Album Review

Larry Pierce [allmusic.com]

I have always had a deep passion about this one. Yes, it's not ''Aja'' - it's almost anti-''Aja'', a fuller journey into darkness and studio precision that ''Aja'' only toyed with, as brilliant as that record is. I think there's a lot of emotional heat here. ''Babylon Sisters and ''Hey Nineteen'' are brilliant, as are several others. But, for the sheer joy of air guitar, turn up ''Third World Man'' and try to mimic (especially) the first of the two solos by, I think, Larry Carlton. It takes my breath away every time I hear it. Full volume is a necessity. RIP, Walter!!
