John Ogdon's 5-LP set Pianistic Philosophies has never been released on CD in its entirety, and many of the most interesting pieces here (Yardumian, Lloyd, Messiaen...) have languished in obscurity for many years, unknown even to Ogdon aficionados. He was particulary strong at contemporary music, and these recordings are certainly among the best things he ever did. A must for 20th Century music lovers.
