Intentionally funny at times, unintentionally funny at others. Just when you think it's all too immature to take seriously, the Dweez throws a moody and beautiful instrumental like Pirate Song at you. Of course it doesn't hurt having Wackerman and Thunes as your rhythm section. 3 stars seems generous if not about right. Too bad DZ didn't keep doing his own thing instead of just covering his Dad's music. It seems Dweezil didn't learn much about originality from his old man. There's only a couple of albums like this one, done in his late teens, and what might have been had he made a determined effort to get out from under Frank's shadow.
